Animal Report on Wolves

Did you know that wolves like to eat berries, pears, melons, and apples?
Wolves come from the canine family. They live in North America, Europe, Canada, and Russia. This report will inform about how wolves look, live and other interesting facts.

Physical Description

Wolves weigh up to 80 kilograms. Their colours are amazing; white, black, grey, and red. Wolves skin feels like a very furry texture and is as soft as silk. Their body parts are very interesting; they have long ears that can hear very well, large sharp teeth that can slice, long legs that are very fast and a furry back a long bushy tail and a stomach.

Life Cycle

Where do these incredible animals live? Wolves can live in the rainforest, snow, grasslands and the amazon. Wolves are carnivores; they eat meat, but do also like some fruits. There are threats to wolves; they are humans, because some humans harm wolves by polluting waterways. Some animals like tigers, hyenas and other animals hunt them. Their two layers of fur help them to survive in the cold. In warmer weather they flatten their fur to keep cool.


Other Interesting Facts

Did you know that wolves are the biggest member in the canine family. They are a very legendary animal.Wolf pups are born blind and deaf. When wolf pups are born they stay in their den for three years.

                                                  Slow Loris

 Physical Description of the Slow Loris.



The size of the slow loris depends on the species.They wiegh from 103g to 2,100g.The loris is covered with fur the color of the loris fur can be gray,brown,yellow,red,silver or,golden.They have large eyes si the front of their body.They ensure binocular vision and perception of depth.They have special pincer-like hands-and feet.


         How a Slow Loris Lives


There are more than ten different species of loris which live in tropical rainforest scrub forest,swamps.Loris sleeps during the day in a very specific position.It caris in the ball,placing its head between the long. Although the loris is a solitary creature (living on its own), it can often be seen sleeping in a group of a couple of lorises.Loris is an omnivore (eats both meat and vegetarian food). It eats insects,slugs, small animals,fruit,leaves and various types of eggs.


    Other Interesting Facts.


Their eyes have specific reflective layers called tapetum lucidum, which provides excellent eyesight during the height. It is filled with venom under its elbow used for protection against the predators. When faced with danger, the loris licks its elbow and covers its teeth with poison.

These are the Year 5/6 Students who attended the Zone Orienteering Competition on Monday April 3rd. The teams pulled together and completed the courses in the fastest times they could. They all faced the challenge with enthusiasm, and some even made it to Auckland Champs. Best of luck with the next round Senior Team!
