Museum Visit - Volcano Focus
Today Rooms 5&6 went to Auckland Museum to learn more about the Earth's Geosphere, focussing on volcanoes. They had an little while to explore the volcano exhibition and the earthquake/volcano room (a simulator). Then they had a workshop with a volcanologist names Josh who taught them about the three main types of volcanic eruptions - explosive, fire fountain and lava flow - and the rocks that come from each. They also explored the importance of survival kits in the event of a natural disaster.

Franklin Soccer 2016
Congratulations to students who participated in the Year 5/6 Soccer Tournament today at Tuakau. It was a real success on so many levels. For a start the rain stayed away for most of the day! All students enjoyed their day and gave their best. They also showed awesome sportsmanship, respect and resilience. Thank you to the parents who assisted with transport, managing teams and umpiring. Nga mihi nui
